Couples Group

Service Description

The Couples Group, led by Judy and Richard Long, meets every second and fourth Sunday of the month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This group is designed to lay the foundation for Marriage 2.0 while helping individuals recover from partner betrayal and intimacy anorexia. Addiction often coexists with an intimacy disorder. By making the clients' primary relationship the focus of the recovery process, we believe couples can experience more profound and faster healing. Through an emotionally focused, attachment-attentive process, the relationship that was the source of injury can become the very place of healing. People with addictions learn to respond differently to their internal shame and grow in their ability to give their partners the intimacy they desire and deserve through rigorous honesty. Partners begin to obtain safety and security as the foundations of a marriage 2.0 are strategically laid out and practiced.
