I’m Judy Barnes Long, LPC — a dedicated therapist passionate about helping individuals and couples heal from addiction, relational trauma, and sexual health struggles. My approach blends cutting-edge research with deep empathy, and is rooted in relational-psychobiological theory, adult attachment, developmental psychology, interpersonal neurobiology, and spirituality.

In my work supporting recovery from sex addiction and ongoing infidelity, I recognized that many traditional treatment models focus solely on individual healing — often encouraging partners to work essentially apart. I believe healing together is often a more powerful path. That’s why I offer relationship-focused intensives and couples work grounded in a framework that honours both individual and relational transformation.

Drawing on years of intensive study and practice in adult attachment, addiction, trauma, and couples work, I integrate evidence-based treatments such as NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model), John Gottman-informed methods, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Partner-Centered Recovery and Intimacy Anorexia models. I bring specialized training in relational trauma and sexual health recovery, offering a nuanced, compassionate lens for both individuals and couples.

Approach & Philosophy

Judy combines evidence-informed therapies (DBT, EMDR, Gottman work) with targeted clinical certifications and an emphasis on practical skills. Her work draws on developmental psychology, interpersonal neurobiology, and spirituality to create lasting, measurable change. Clients appreciate her direct style and dedication to tangible outcomes.

Who We Help

Individuals and couples experiencing betrayal or emotional disconnection; partners working through recovery from addiction or personality-related injuries; people seeking stabilization after trauma; and those wanting to build emotional fitness and resilience.

"The moment I heard "that's integrity abuse" in that sweet southern voice I knew I'd found my lighthouse in the storm. Your ability to call abuse out, require commitment and repair is a gift.  Your guided well explained treatment plans were a blessing.  Thank you my southern angel. "
