Couple-Centered Recovery® Intensive
Relationships can carry deep pain from betrayal, trauma, or chronic relational stress. Couple-Centered Recovery® offers a guided, structured approach to help couples rebuild trust, restore connection, and create a secure, thriving partnership.
What is Couple-Centered Recovery® Intensive?
The Couple-Centered Recovery® Intensive is a focused, immersive experience designed for couples ready to rebuild trust and intimacy after relational crisis or disconnection. Led by Dr. Jake Porter and his trained team, this intensive blends the principles of PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) with trauma-informed recovery to help couples experience lasting change — not just insight, but transformation.
Over one to three days, you’ll receive personalized attention, guided practice, and actionable tools to move from pain to partnership.
Healing with the PACT Approach
PACT combines neuroscience, attachment theory, and arousal regulation to help partners understand what’s happening beneath the surface of conflict. You’ll learn how your nervous systems interact and how small cues — tone, posture, eye contact — affect safety and trust.
Through experiential exercises and guided dialogue, couples begin to:
-
Recognize and regulate emotional and physical triggers.
-
Build “secure functioning” — a relationship based on mutual safety and responsiveness.
-
Create a “couple bubble” — a shared space of protection and connection where both partners feel seen and supported.
This work helps couples shift from reactive cycles into intentional, attuned communication.

Healing with Couple-Centered Recovery®
Healing after betrayal or relational pain takes more than time — it takes guided repair. The Couple-Centered Recovery® Intensive helps partners move from disconnection to safety and trust.
Using the PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) model, couples learn how their nervous systems and attachment patterns shape their reactions. Together, you’ll:
-
Understand triggers and regulate emotions.
-
Rebuild safety and connection through secure-functioning principles.
-
Practice real-time repair and honest communication.
This work helps couples rediscover empathy, restore closeness, and create a stronger foundation for the future.
Addressing What Matters Most
Every intensive is tailored to your relationship, but core areas often include:
-
Attachment & Regulation – Understanding how your attachment patterns influence your reactions and learning to self- and co-regulate during moments of distress.
-
Moment-to-Moment Awareness – Developing the ability to read one another’s nonverbal cues — facial expressions, tone, posture — to increase empathy and connection.
-
Secure-Functioning Partnership – Rebuilding trust and teamwork so both partners feel protected within the relationship.
-
Repair and Resilience – Learning how to recover quickly and kindly from conflict, transforming disconnection into deeper intimacy.
What to Expect from an Intensive with Judy Long
Your journey begins with a pre-intensive assessment to clarify your goals, history, and current challenges.

Expect to leave with:
-
Greater understanding of your patterns and triggers.
-
Practical tools for emotional regulation and reconnection.
-
A shared roadmap for continued healing after the intensive.
This is deep work — but it’s also hopeful work. You’ll discover that repair, safety, and closeness are possible again.
